Mike, GeoInsight's Director of Engineering, has over 23 years of experience in geotechnical and environmental engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in the states of New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Connecticut and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. His extensive experience with intrusive site investigations gives him close familiarity with the subsurface geologic characteristics of New England. He has been able to leverage this knowledge base for clients in efficient, effective execution of an extensive range of geotechnical and geo-environmental evaluations, reports, design applications, and litigation support relative to foundations, soil conditions, ground water and surface water, and contaminated soil remediation. This experience has led to extensive knowledge of construction codes and hazardous waste, solid waste, and other environmental regulations for the New England states. The work completed for his clients has also included numerous permitting applications involving site work, solid waste, ground water, and surface water. Mr. Penney graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
Mike has over 21 years of experience in environmental consulting and is a licensed professional geologist in the states of New Hampshire and Indiana. Mr. Webster serves clients involved in contaminated sites by directing environmental characterization and risk evaluations, remedial investigations, and remedial feasibility studies. He has provided these services for sites with particularly complex conditions that have included multiple aquifer systems, the migration of separate-phase product, and the natural degradation of chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons in ground water, employing sophisticated ground water flow and contaminant transport simulation tools. Mr. Webster also has substantial experience completing environmental due diligence assessments and third party reviews associated with technical and regulatory requirements for impacted properties and portfolios of properties. Mr. Webster has used this experience base to provide expert testimony and litigation support associated with environmental assessment, remediation, and regulatory compliance. He graduated from Boston College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, and received a Master of Science degree in Geology from Boston College in 1986.
